Privacy policy and support for the TallyVally expense tracker
TallyVally turns a receipt into a record of what you spent, and what you saved — photograph it, pick a photo you already have, or upload a PDF the store emailed you. Everything is stored on your iPhone.
Email alishersv.dev@outlook.com. Please say which iPhone and which iOS version you are on, and what you were doing when the problem happened. There is no account, so there is nothing for us to look up: what you tell us is what we have to work with.
A receipt would not scan. Reading a receipt needs a connection, because it is read by an AI service. If it fails, nothing is deducted from your scan allowance and you can try again. For a photo, make sure the whole receipt is in frame and in focus. For a PDF, make sure it is a receipt or invoice rather than a scanned page of something else.
Something was read wrong. Tap the receipt in your feed and edit it. The store, the date, the total, the currency and every individual line can all be corrected by hand.
I have run out of scans. The free plan includes a set number of scans, and the Scan tab shows how many are left and when the next ones arrive. You can wait for the start of next month, or subscribe for unlimited scans.
I paid and the app still says Free. Open the plan screen from Settings and tap Restore. Your subscription is tied to your Apple Account, not to this app, so it comes back on any iPhone you sign in to.
How do I cancel? In iOS Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Apple handles subscriptions, so cancelling is done there rather than in the app. You keep Premium until the period you have already paid for runs out.
I changed phone. Where are my receipts? If you backed up your old iPhone, your receipts are inside that backup. Restore the new phone from it and they come back with the rest of your apps. If you did not back up, nothing else was keeping a copy. Settings, then Your data, then Export your receipts writes a spreadsheet you can keep anywhere.
How do I get my data out? Settings, then Your data, then Export your receipts. It writes a spreadsheet of every receipt and every line item, which you can open in any spreadsheet app or take to a phone that is not an iPhone.
What leaves my phone? Reading a receipt sends it to Google’s Gemini AI — the photo you took, or the whole PDF including every page — so anything printed on it is part of what is sent. If your receipt prints the payment method and the last four digits of your card, those are in it and are read out of it. A full card number, PIN, expiry or bank-account number is never sent, because none of that is printed on a receipt or held by the app.
Cloud chat sends a summary of your spending instead. That summary never includes your card last four or your payment method, but it does include the names of the items you buy most often, and it includes them on every question you ask — not only the ones that mention an item. If that is more than you want to share, Settings has a stricter aggregate-only mode that sends totals alone, and on a supported iPhone you can switch chat to run entirely on the device.
