Keeping your collection safe
- iCloud Sync (Settings › Your Data) keeps a copy of your collection in your own iCloud. With it on, deleting the app or getting a new iPhone brings your collection back by itself: sign in with the same Apple Account and open GameMonster.
- What the iCloud Sync line means:
- Up to date · N items in iCloud: iCloud has everything.
- N changes waiting to upload: they'll upload when iCloud can be reached. Until then they're only on this iPhone.
- Some changes couldn't be saved to iCloud: GameMonster tries again each time you open it. Export a backup to be safe.
- iCloud is full, but your collection is safe here: free up space in iCloud, or export a backup.
- "Only on This iPhone" in Settings means deleting the app would delete your collection. Tap it to save a backup file to Files, AirDrop or email.
- Backups: GameMonster keeps copies on your iPhone: daily for a week, weekly for a month and monthly for a year. Restore any of them in Settings › Backups. They're deleted with the app, so export a backup file too if you don't use iCloud.
Moving to a new iPhone
- With iCloud Sync on: install GameMonster on the new iPhone and open it. Your collection comes back by itself.
- Without iCloud: on the old iPhone, go to Settings › Export › Backup File. On the new one, tap "Restore a Backup" on the welcome screen.
Bringing a collection from another app
Settings › Import › From Another App reads spreadsheets from CLZ Games, GAMEYE, PriceCharting and most other apps. You'll see what matched before anything is added.
Deleting everything
Settings › Delete All Data erases your collection, wishlist, backups and settings from this iPhone and from iCloud. It can't be undone. Export a backup first if you might want it back.
Privacy
See the Privacy Policy. In short: no accounts, no ads, no tracking, and we never receive your collection.
